The Egyptian chronology is the chronological arrangement of the kings who ruled in Egypt. According to this arrangement, the Egyptian timeline was constructed, by which researchers dated historical events in other parts of the ancient world as well.
The Egyptian chronology is controversial among historians, due to significant discrepancies in the dates of events
The root of the problem is the lack of reliable documentation. The ancient Egyptians did not have a standardized dating system, and many of the surviving texts and inscriptions are incomplete, damaged, or subject to interpretation. Researchers had to rely on various different sources, including astronomical data, radiocarbon dating, and historical reports from other cultures.
Among researchers there are different schools of thought. Some believe that the accepted chronology is essentially correct, and that the gaps are the result of errors or gaps in historical records. Others claim that the accepted chronology is fundamentally flawed, and that many of the dates were inflated or interpreted incorrectly.
Immanuel Velikovsky was the first to point out the serious problems in the accepted chronology, because many of the events attributed to specific pharaohs did not match the historical times as dictated by chronologies of other peoples. Many researchers joined this school of thought and even added material evidence to the historical claims, such as Carbon-14 dating and more.
My involvement in this subject began when I precisely identified the specific Pharaoh of the The ExodusThis identification allows synchronizing the Egyptian chronology with the Hebrew chronology (which is much more detailed than the Egyptian one), and thus compare the two histories along the timeline (for example, identifying the Pharaoh who hosted Abraham and Sarah, etc.)
This is how I also found the Pharaoh who elevated Joseph to greatness. However, it then turned out that the dynasty to which he belonged was pushed back by the accepted chronology hundreds of years into the depths of the distant past.
I found that Egyptian chronology suffers from many flaws, including:
When I researched the matter in depth, by comparing the two histories, I discovered far-reaching findings that drastically changed the Egyptian timeline. The length of Egyptian history was significantly shortened, duplications were removed from the chronology, and events that occurred outside Egypt began to take their proper place on the Egyptian timeline as well.
Moreover, other mysteries were solved such as the identity of the Hyksos and the duration of their rule, who built the pyramids and how, and much more. In particular, I note that this research found the identity of the biblical Joseph in ancient Egyptian literature and the extent of his involvement in Egyptian government and history.
Dear readers,
In this portal, I will present the research results as independent and separate articles, which will focus on different aspects in a targeted manner.
I intend to publish a book on this matter, which will compile the research results, articles, and additional information.
One of the main purposes of the portal is to serve as a means of communication between me as a researcher and you, the reading public. At the end of each article, you can express your opinion, ask questions, clarify issues, and conduct discussions among yourselves. All responses will come to my attention, and I will try to respond to all of them.
